CONFESSION

Well, here we are…

This took far too long to finish. Thirteen years if you’re curious, yet I’m still excited to show you the rest. That’s either a good sign or a fine example of the sunk cost fallacy. In any event, I’m humbled to have you here at the end of it with me. I wasn’t lying at the beginning about this being a prayer. It’s a story and stories are meant to be shared, so consider my prayer answered. There’s a collection plate if you’ve got coin to spare. All proceeds will go toward the small things and perhaps, on occasion, a little bit of magic for my partner, for our kids, for family and friends. But there’s no obligation. I hope I’ve made it clear that I’d tell this story to an empty room.

I wasn’t going to have this part. I was going to end it much like it began, but I wanted to let the artifice drop at least once to say thank you.

Until we meet again, please take care of yourselves, of others. Be kind when you can. It’s often quite cheap and means the world.

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

Forgive me this sandbox, for I just wanted to play.

Gratefully,
Your Less Than Omniscient Narrator
